If I count it correctly, I only have 9 teaching days left till I au revoir my kids and hop onto a plane to a place that was only deemed to be a 'good idea' over Thai food one dinner time with my favourite company. We do this all the time - share our dreams and places we'd love to visit in the future, not really taking into consideration all the preparations (and money) that go with a trip but just because we can dream, we take full advantage of this freedom. Luckily enough though, instead of daydreaming all year, we decided why not make this trip one to live and go for it - let's go to the United States of America. And that, we are.
This whole year has been focused on this trip, more precisely 'investing' in this trip. I'm a pretty good money saver, always have been since I was young (it's my dad's number one rule - don't spend your money too much!) and for this advice, I owe him. Since that random (and unforgettable) GAT'04 trip back in 2004, God spoke to me and still speaks the same words 'Anything is possible' and I've never let this promise leave my mind. I'm one of those people that live for dreams - the dream to finish university, the dream to get a job, the dream to own a car, the dream to travel etc. The prospects of such dreams allow me to plan ahead and work for something meaningful, and this trip is just another one of them.
I'm pretty excited the end and the beginning is near. As I pack my luggage in the next week, I'm sure not to forget one thing - an open mind, I mean my camera.
