Don't ask what time we woke up this morning (or should I say afternoon) because it sounds so slothy but much needed. 16 hours of sleep to be exact. That was my sleep debt from this entire year accumilated in one night. Oh, but don't forget the 14 hour flight we had 24 hours ago and a very short sleep the night before. So anyway, our agenda for the day was to go walksies around the famous Dundas area where all the young people supposedly hang out and where all the stores are. The first time we saw Dundas Square it immediately bought us back to the first time we saw the Shibuya crossing - so you can tell how excited we were at this point. Too bad it was raining though.
We went inside the Toronto Eaton Centre and the PATH (underground shopping mall) and just went for a looksie. We saw a ginormous Christmas Tree decorated with Swarofski ornaments - very nice. And while waiting to meet up with Minelle and Tracy, we warmed up inside a Starbucks. For dinner, they took us to Night Markets and dinner at Mill St Brewery House where we tasted their versions of beer - hmmm, Aussie beer is just one to be missed wherever you go. Our waitress was too funny, the worst service ever, forgot about Bub's nacho order, said she'd pay for our drinks to compensate for the wait etc.. in the end we didn't end up giving her a tip and also refused to pay for the drink she didn't take off from the bill. And funny thing was, she actually came running out of the restaurant in her minimal waitress outfit and told us we had forgotten to pay for a drink (in which she said she would pay for to compensate for the late order). In the end, we didn't argue and walked off. Too funny.
Tomorrow's travels will be to see the CN tower, Royal Ontario Museum and wherever the wind takes us on an expected chilly day. Oh, we saw snow falling tonight - yay.
